Over the past 25 years Hoffmann Hospice has marked the beginning of the holiday season with our annual Light Up A Life event.
The celebration is an opportunity to pause to celebrate the memory of loved ones that have passed away and individuals that make life a little brighter.
This year when you make a Light Up A Life dedication, a light symbolically representing the person you are honoring will illuminate The Tree at The Marketplace and Hoffmann Hospice Home throughout the Holiday Season.
With each dedication your loved one's name will be added to our list of names to be read during our virtual ceremony and included in our
2020 Light Up A Life List of Names which will be available online and printed in
The Bakersfield Californian on Sunday, December 20th, 2020.
Together we will illuminate the darkness and give hope to our community this holiday season.
Dedications can be made until Sunday, November 29th, 2020.
Hoffmann Hospice provides grief support services at no cost.

Your generous gift of at least $10 will bring light to the Hoffmann Hospice Home
and the patients and families we serve this holiday season.
Light Dedication ($10) - With each dedication a symbolic light will shine to recognize your loved one and their name will be added to our 2020 List of Names to be read aloud at our virtual ceremony.
Ornament Dedication ($100) - A symbolic light will shine to recogniz your loved one, their name will added to our 2020 List of Names to be read aloud and recieve printed recognition, and you will receive a 2020 commemorative ornament.
Angel Dedication ($250) - A symbolic light will shine to recognize your loved one, their name will be added to our 2020 List of Names to be read aloud at the beginning of our virtual ceremony, recognized in BOLD print on our published list, and you will receive a 2020 commemorative ornmanet.

Out of an abundance of caution and respect for the safety of the families who usually attend Light Up A Life, this year's celebration will be a VIRTUAL event. Although we will not be gathering in person, we will still honor those we hold close to our hearts and remember the beautiful ways they enriched our lives. The Holiday Lights at the Hoffmann Hospice Home will remain lit each night from December 1st - December 31st, 2020 to honor those recognized with dedications.
Enjoy this year's Light Up A Life Virtual celebration from the comfort of your own home. The LIVE streaming Reading of the Names will take place on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 on YouTube. The recording will be available for viewing throughout the holiday season.

Although we wont be gathering together, Hoffmann Hospice staff will stand vigil during a LIVE candle light reading of all the names on Tuesday, December 1st, beginning at 6:00 PM. The recording of the reading ceremony will be available for viewing on the Hoffmann Hospice YouTube, and social media. A list of all names recognized with a dedication will appear in the Bakersfield Californian on Sunday, December 20th, 2020, the week of Christmas.
Ornament and Angel dedications include a 2020 Commemorative ornament mailed to each donor for their tree at home.
Each Angel dedication will be read first during the live ceremony and appear with a bold listing in the 2020 List of Names published in The Bakersfield Californian on Sunday, December 20th, 2020.
This will be the first year the Hoffmann Hospice Home will have holiday lights. Each light represents a life worthy of celebration while ensuring that others receive the compassionate end of life care they need. Each dedication is recognized with a symbolic light on the Hoffmann Hospice Home which will shine throughout the Holiday Season. Drive by the Hospice Home December 1-31st to view the Christmas Lights shining collectively in memory and in honor of our loved ones.
